What a nice place and cool place where you can see how lyra's are build and played! We came to the workplace/shop with a unusual question: we were making a videoclip with the Dutch/Greek children living on Crete. For the clip we use a beat, but we needed it to sound more Cretan, so we asked if they could play... More

Dropped in early one evening with my teenage daughter, just on the off chance that they were open, and were treated to a wonderful conversation for an hour or so in which we were shown various instruments at different stages of construction, an explanation of different types and tunings, and some beautiful renditions on one of their fabulous instruments. The... More

We are New Yorkers with roots in Crete. For our children's first visit we stopped by to experience the rich culture, history and craftsmanship that is this beautiful shop. Our son loves his Lyra!!! Highly recommended not only for music lovers but all who wish to experience Cretan culture.

Hospitality, tradition and a wonderful place, I highly recommend a visit at Stagakis Lyra workshop and museum especially for musicians. You will certainly find this exhibition interesting and intriguing. Music, a bit of raki and you will find this place both warm and enlightening.

A wonderfull World plenty of joy and kindness, thanks to Mr Stagakis Who welcomed and took care of us for a long Time. Very well manufactured instruments, which one of them is now standing in Marseille. Special thanks to the Lauto professor who taught us some traditional melodies. Very happy moment!
