We visited the volcano with a boat tour. It was different. we climbed to the very top where you can feel the heat. If you come to santorini it is a must to visit the volcano, however bring comfortable trainers and be prepared to walk a lot. It is very tiring.

Great to see an active volcano. Do not be de eived cloudy and windy in the morning does not equal no sun. Cost reasonable 40 eoros for 2 to visit volcano and hot springs for a swim. Be warned about the extras. €5 each to go down the cable car for a 1 way trip. Better to walk down. Allow... More

Some of the people on the tour with us had a tougher time getting up the volcano. We enjoyed the walk and especially the scenery from the top. You could see down into the crater and there were areas where the sulfur was coming out. This is worth the visit if you are going to Santorini anyway. Swimming in the... More

I booked the volcano and hot spring excursion from cheapcruises.com. First we got of our boat and had no clue where to check in. We asked multiple crew people and people on the shore and no one knew what to do or where to go. Finally we found someone who sent us into a shop to exchange tickets but still... More

Just the experience, history and scenic view is worth the walk up there. Its nothing but stones and sulfur smoke up there. But the history and facts are quite interesting if you have a knowledgable tourguide! Dont take any stones away and dont throw garbage on the ground..its sad that everyone actually has to say that in a national park..... More

It is very interesting to visit one of the European active volcanos and see the steam coming out of the vulcano crater.

Amazing unique experience to hike up an active volcano. Fantastic views from the top of whole of santorini and across ocean to other islands. Is a challenging walk

The view from the summit are panoramic -ally beautiful. Pictures, again, do not give this place justice. It is a must see. The steep incline is not recommended for those who have difficulty walking. The boat ride to, around, & from the volcano was wild with the waves being so intense, but fun. Wear good walking shoes you do not... More

Best view of the Caldera and the villages from all parts of the island, will compensate you when you visit the volcano of Santorini. you can go with small boats, just ask a travel agency.
