About
Surrounded by tall marble cliffs and looking out onto the azure waters of the Myrtos Gulf, this stunning beach makes for a dramatically breathtaking sight. A steep and winding stretch of road will take you there—stop on your way to admire the view and catch the pink and orange hues at sunset on your way back. Get in early to secure both a place to park and a prime spot on the sand; the water tends to be at its calmest in the morning too. There are changing rooms and toilet facilities, a beach bar, and a few sunbeds and umbrellas you can rent. – Tripadvisor

    Fabulous Beach
Stunning beach. We went early, arrived at about 10am and parking was fine. Got ourselves a couple of beds and a shade and stayed there all day. The sea is warm (July). There is a beach bar at the back of the beach and also toilets and showers.

Lovely day at this beautifully located beach.
Anyone visiting Myrtos Beach in July and expecting it not to be busy has some seriously unrealistic expectations I would suggest. Yes, the beach was busy but to be honest I've seen more packed beaches in the UK at the first sign of sun. I can also see that if you drive down it is perhaps quite stressful given the hairpin bends and amount of cars but this is not the beach's fault. We took a taxi from Fiskardo, which cost 45 Euros each way and took approx 40 minutes. The beach is in a beautiful location. It is a shingle beach, so beach shoes were useful. The sea was blue, clean and clear. There were plenty of sunbeds, which were very reasonable at 10 Euros for 2 plus a parasol. The beach cafe was clean, well stocked with drinks and snacks and we didn't experience (or see) any long queues. Toilets are of the portaloo type but again were clean and stocked with toilet paper. Perhaps previous reviewers had a particularly bad experience but it was certainly not ours, we had a lovely day. The earlier you arrive, the quieter it is.

    Stunning views, great beach!
Great beach with stunning views! Sea was nice and warm too. We went at 5pm and although it was still very hot, it wasn’t too busy. The roads are tight to get up and down there so if you are not a confident driver be warned! Some great views on the drive otherwise. There are changing and WC facilities down there which are free to use which is handy too. Definitely worth a visit if you are in kefalonia.

    Nice but not the first
According to most it is the most beautiful beach in Kefalonia and one of the best in Greece. In fact the water has beautiful colors typical of the Mediterranean sea but in my opinion it comes after Petani beach. There is a choice between a free or equipped beach, the prices are modest, in line with those of Kefalonia, between 10 and 15 euros for an umbrella and 2 sunbeds. Like many beaches on the island it’s made of pebbles.

    A beach not to miss.
This is definitely a beach worth adding to your itinerary. I would recommend going early if you are driving as parking is limited. I arrived at 10.30 and there was plenty of spaces. The drive down is long, with air pin bends but don’t let this put you off. The road is in good condition and as I’ve noticed most locals are patient with holiday drivers. When you get down there the beach is your reward. Shingles beach, the best thing I packed was beach shoes. There are clean toilets, parking is free. There is a bar serving cold/ hot food, reasonably priced. Probably one of the best beaches I visited, if not the best.

The most beautiful beach in kefalonia
An amazing beach, well worth the hair raising drive down! Parking is a bit tricky but it’s so stunning, it’s not to be missed. A beach bar and sun beds and showers are available. A fantastic day out!

    Excellent beach, scarce facilities
Named in top 10 world beaches by many magazines and agencies, Myrtos certainly deserves it. Dramatic setting between two huge cliffs with gel like aqua marine water is best seen from the road view point up. Zig zag paved road (10 y ago it was gravel road) takes you down there, so no problem to access it. Once down, parking is the biggest problem - we circled almost half an hour to get a spot (parking is free). Beach is long and wide, so despite huge number of people in July peak season it didn't seem crowded. Water is movie like, simply gorgeous. However, there's only one establishment selling food and drinks and renting sunbeds. Lines are huge and food junk with inflated prices (ordinary bakery stuff, didn't see nothing below 5 euros a piece). We stayed some 2,5-3 hours and moved to Antisamos beach which has much more facilities.

    Caribbean Blue in Kefalonia
The road to the beach is in good condition, practicable by any car, and the scenery wonderful. The car park is full after 10 o'clock. There is a beach bar, and the sunbed fee is 10 Euro, but there is enough space and privacy for your own umbrellas. The water is an unreal blue, the scenery dramatic, and a lot of powerful big waves. The entrance to the sea is steep, and the currents quite strong.

Stunning beach - well worth a visit!
Beautiful beach with aquamarine blue sea. Best to arrive early to get a sun-bed and good parking spot. Sea was lovely to swim in but waves powerful and slopes away steeply. Not very suitable for small kids. Would definitely recommend visiting but arrive early!!

    Absolutely necessary to visit.
The beach is large, it has sunbeds and umbrellas ( 2 sundbeds and 1 umbrella 10 euro) but you can also bring your own umbrella. The beach is covered with small and large pebbles, you should bring special footwear. The water becomes suddenly deep with big waves. The blue shades of the water are fantastic! You should come at the first hours of the morning because becomes crowded.

The beach itself looks stunning. We visited in the begging of June and there was no umbrellas or what so ever on the beach, so if you haven't brought your own umbrella, you can not stay more than 30min. because of the heat. The beach is pebbly and preferably you need shoes. It is not suitable for children, as it is deepens quickly. The parking is an issue too, if you do not go early.

The water here is very beautiful and clear BUT the beach is pebbly/rocky. You MUST have water shoes or it is painful and difficult to get in and out of the water. The water was rough/waves when we went and no real shallow water for kids to play in. You MUST have an umbrella or the sun is scorching mid day. Umbrellas and chairs are available for rent but go quickly. Cantina open for drinks and snacks, bathrooms and rinse showers available. Parking is a little chaotic and a long windy hill to get to beach level. There is a cave at the end of the beach but can't swim in when water is rough. We made the best of it!

After reading about it being the most beautiful beach in Greece I was somewhat disappointed. Place packed with cars and yes water looked beautiful but nowhere to sit. Locals not so friendly

We had visited the beach in 2011 and it was beautiful. We went back today. The colour of the water is amazing, as always. We arrived on the beach at 10am, which we considered reasonably early, to find almost all of the sun beds already occupied. No umbrellas available. The sea is really rough, definitely not for the faint hearted. The worst aspect though is the traffic/parking. No organisation, complete chaos, people parking wherever they want, sometimes blocking entry/exit down the scary, hairpin-filled road with sheer drops down the cliffs. Oh, and they throw in a few truly massive coaches every now and then. How they get up and down that road is beyond me. The place needs properly organising with parking restrictions. There needs to be a limit on the number of vehicles allowed down there and the big coaches should be banned. If nothing happens I am certain there will be a serious accident on that road one day.

The most stunning water I’ve ever seen.
Beautiful beach loads of space.
We drove here in Citroen c1 and had no problem. Parking fine too. We took a picnic cos wasn’t sure taverna would be open. It opened late afternoon! Enjoy hard not to.

This is the must visit place on the island.
Combine it with a lunch in Divarata and drink in Asos!
I wanted to visit this beach since I watched the movie Captain Corelli’s Mandolin.
We were there at last day of June and still there was no sun-beds and canteen didn’t work. So, to be on the safe side, have your own umbrella, enough drinks and some flip flops. They told us canteen will be open early July.
The road is in a very good shape. If you are a good driver, it will not be a problem. I read some reviews telling that road is narrow, but there are more narrow roads on the island. It is a few minute drive from Divarata and you will enjoy the drive and views.
Beach is really beautiful, clean, with white pebbles, fantastic colours, nature as it should be. You can sit on the shore and admire beauty around you. Enjoy!!

Great to view, not so great to spend time on. Way too pebbly and shingly for me personally as I prefer them sandy. Also, you need to be a confident swimmer as its quite tidal. Overall it looks way better than it is in my opinion.

After a step ride down the hillside you will come to the beautiful, white pebble beach. You can park your car at the back of the beach free of charge. Absolutely stunning crystal clear blue water. Lots of fish swim right near the shallow part of the beach. Great for snorkeling. Make sure you have beach footwear to use in the water as the stones can be painful to walk on. A stunning location. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely stunning, we didn’t drive down to it as hire car would never have made it up winding hills again! It can also have some dangerous currents from what we heard.
