If you ever visit Corfu, you are going to hear stories about Saint Spiridon, the one who saved this island from horrible diseases and misfortune. Its a good place to visit if you are religious but also wanna hear some extra stuff about Corfu.

It's an old church in the center of Corfu town, easy to reach, where you can have a breath of warm air between its nice decorated walls.
The icons, the painted ceiling, the iconostasis, the reliques of Agios Spyridon. This is a place not to be missed. The shop of the church has, among other items on sale, icons and interesting books on the Corfù churches.

Away from the glare of the sun, the dark peaceful interior is wrapped in dark wood carving, classic religious imagery and dripped in extravagant silver. The casket containing the relics a particular focus. A must see.
Many people who were visiting while we were there were very emotional being in this church. We are not orthodox but enjoyed seeing the architecture. St. Spiridon's remains are in a casket in the church.
