13 stories climb to get to the Castle. 15 minutes walk from the center. Breathtaking view of the city, Mount Olympus and Thassos. It's a must!

Sitting atop Panagia (neighborhood), this sprawling castle offers the best views overlooking Kavala and the surrounding mountains and sea. There’s not much left in the way of structures, but if you use your imagination you can picture what the area looked like years ago. There...More

A very nice place to view Kavala from, however there isn't much to do inside, it seems it's set up for events rather than your traditional castle with loads of information posts about etc.

城塞そのものはそれほどでもないが、眺望は期待値を越えるものだった。テッサロニキ<マケドニアバスターミナル>から日帰りで往復した(往復切符で€30 片道 2.5 - 3 時間)。 It took 2.5 - 3.0 hours from Thessaloniki by highway bus ( €30 for a round trip). You can get a great view from the top!! You need to tackle the steep slope though...

We visited the castle, using the road through the aqueduct - very steep so not suitable for people with walking difficulties. Beautiful views over the city and bay, and from the tower within the grounds. €5 each entry fee, small cafe inside.

The castle isn't too big, but offers great 360 g views over Kavala from its tower. It can't be accessed by car, but the walk till the gate isn't that long and difficult. The entrance is 2.5 € and it closes at 9PM
