“A night out”
Mohamed ali's family house is situated on the Panagia Peninsula, in the old town of Kavala. Constructed around 1780 and uniquely renovated between 2001-2004 stands as a highly praised piece of late Ottoman architecture. An absolute must see!

A nice place to visit. It is one of the few houses that had an inside bath (hamam). Very interesting as the water runs in the house. Very nice view of the sea.

A place to visit day and night. You can go there and enjoy a drink and finger food sitting under the trees in the garden of Mohamed Ali's house, having a magnificent view of the city of Kavala. Romantic and atmospheric is good for couples...More

This restored house offers a glimpse of how a privileged Muslim family would have lived. The story of Mohamed Ali was also very interesting - it is worth taking time for the audiovisual about him. This runs continuously in one of the rooms.

It is interesting to see where this important personality of the Arabic World was born. Greek, and especially Kavala people, have great respect for the house where he was living, and from where he spread out his knowledges.

The admittance tickets are a bit pricey but the house is beautiful. This house is not exactly about Mohamed Ali though - this was his family's house really. There are few objects and artifacts inside, just bare rooms with sofas and the all-present beautiful woorwork.
