A gentle 30 minute walk from town takes you to this beach. There are 2 beaches one by the taverna and another further round. We stayed on the beach by the taverna which offered free sun beds in return for for having a drink or...More

very nice walk from town, but then not really what you would call a great beach. a very poor taverna, and a posh snackbar with great sallads further on, more luxurious beach lounges, ans that's it. 5 min by boat from the center

A 15-minute walk from the harbor, this lovely little beach sits in a pretty cove, part of a former (and future) resort. The umbrella-shaded sunbeds are not cheap--6 Euros each—but your waitress will welcome you with a bucket of free bottles of water. The bathrooms...More

Avoid on a windy day !!!! The fine sand that surrounds the sunbeds blows up and its like sitting in a sand storm.

I have visited Hydra several times over the past 15 years. The only thing I missed was a good clean and sandy beach. Finally there is one this year. What a fabulous surprise a 6 euros water taxi ride takes you to the beach. The...More

The facilities are comfortable, but it is not the best water, not the nicest location. It is very close to Hydra town, and can be reached by walking or by short 6 euro boat ride. Bathroom and showers are available, as are coffee and food,...More

A laid-back and lovely beach, situated in a cove. The water is generally calm and warm. You are well shaded on this beach, which is quite pebbley. There is a lovely taverna by the beach.

With excellent other beach choices, Mandhraki is a "no go." We took the chance of a 20 minute walk out of town, only to reach a grubby small stone beach with minimal amenities, facing a derelict hotel construction site -- spent only long enough to...More

I was on Hydra island for a few days and although I knew that Hydra is not known for it's beaches, I wanted to see which ones were around to check out. I read some good reviews about this beach, and took a chance on...More

Expected more than this - all the beachfront buildings had been emptied if their fittings etc - all this was piled up on the pebbly beach. Would anchor off here if in a boat but not worth the bother or 20 min walk from Hydra.
