Rent a quad and go there to see this beautiful piece of history and the great views up there. You must walk the hills little bit from the last place where you can drive to.

To be honest I don't suppose you travel to Skiathos in search of history but this was a great find. Google it for the history side but visit as well as it puts all the facts into perspective. Couple of tips though, go on a...More

We went there with the one sailing day cruise. The road from the sea until the castle was amazing!!!You feel the nature and you will keep wandering how they managed to build right there. Not only the castle but and the small churches around it.

Kastro has an amazing setting on a small peninsular miles from anywhere. The new concrete road has made getting there much easier however it is a shame it is only single track with high, hard edges, not particularly easy without 4 wheel drive if you...More

Lovely beach and taverna, you can go for a walk up to the old town to see the old ruins. Due to rough seas we had to stay on the beach but it was well worth the visit.

Bit random for a beach holiday but well worth the visit. Loads of tourist information in English to make sure you get a full feel of the place. There is a Greek guy there who knows everything about everything. He says he only goes there...More

You can drive very close to it but the walk up into the ruined village does require walking on small rocks along paths. You can get a reasonable view of it from the small car park right at the bottom of the approach.
