We had a lovely time in the museum as it is well designed, housing large volumes of the world-famous H. K. Andersen's books and art. The model of his childhood home was well presented too. The actual house where he lived is in a different location in Odense.

Small museum that is fun to see. Odense is a charming village and worth a day trip to the old area to feel the Danish charm. I visited here prior to TA date settings so I hope they will allow this posting.

This was my first time to Odense and of course I had to see the H.C. Andersen Museum. I was very excited by the size of the place and all the original things that were there, his hat, letters, a beautiful screen he had made, paper clippings, it was so nice. That day there was a storyteller and a kot... More

Oh my god!! Such a cool writer and such a bad museum! We have really expected much more of it! Actually, it was more about texts, while we expected some colorful presentation of stories and heroes. We could deffinitely read the most of information presented on our own!

I enjoyed visiting the museum and finding out about the life and times of this man. If you read the stories, it is great to see what inspired him. He was also quite the playwright, which I never knew. He really enjoyed doing paper cutouts before Matisse was doing them!

This is one of the most beautiful and charming museums I've been to. Care has been put into displaying everything very aesthetically with some interactive parts. You don't just look at individual artifacts here, but you get a real sense of the whimsy that envelopes the childhoods that enjoyed Hans Christian Andersen's stories. The exhibitions also do showcase his life... More

We were in Copenhagen with my family and since our kids are 4 and 7 years old, we thought it was a good idea to come to Odense. The fast train was only one hour trip so it was very suitable. Although the House of Andersen was nice, I really believe that the whole trip does not worth the time... More

Truly lovely museum which begins with a timeline of HC Andersen's life. He certainly did live through some amazing events! I was very excited to see the screens he made and was quite touched to be able to see his hat and furniture. Do not miss it if you go to Odense or if you are a fan of his,... More
