Tivoli at Christmas is well worth a visit! I have never experienced anything like this place, and the whole family will love it!

Fun place and a few nice "shops" but not a genuine market with sheds etc. Quite quaint and cute but I was looking for the real thing

It doesn't take long to see how Tivoli inspired Walt to create his own theme park. I came during the Christmas period and while it looked great at night, it was transformed at night with an incredibly beautiful arrangement of lights and decorations. Take a break from the Scandinavian cold with a hot wine with the option of adding a... More

Every December for the last few years I've visited Tivoli with a friend. I'm always blown away with the beauty and "julehygge" it gives the visitors. It's also a market where you can find something special for yourself or someone who is special to you. It feels magical and for children it must be like stepping into a fairytale. I... More

where do I start? Tivoli is not just any amusement park, you get rides, aquarium, shops, music, dance, good food, really anything you need to have a good time. But Tivoli really comes alive as night falls and the lights are lit, the gardens are bathed in colour and becomes simply magical! my friends did not even go up on... More

I wouldn't necessarily say that Tivoli is a must-see experience, but it is one of the more obvious attractions in the City, and it is lovely and great fun, I doubt you would regret going. I've been to Tivoli in the summer and around Christmas time. At Christmas it looks absolutely amazing in the evening, lot's of lights and decorations.... More

Went to Copenhagen for the day. Didn't think much to the market. Had to pay to go round the market. Suppose some would say more like a Christmas wonder land. Not a lot to see. Went on a tour bus of the city that was interesting. Very clean city. Lovely decorations up around the main shopping streets most Danes speak... More

Very expensive but worth a visit, especially after dark when all the lights make this a wonderland. Lots of good places to eat and fun fair rides for the brave. It is much larger than you think so give yourself enough time. Unfortunately when it rains the drainage is poor and there are lots of large puddles to negotiate.

Spent 3 hours in the day and another 2 hours at night. Need to pay for most of the rides unless you paid for the band which cover all rides. If you're not going to ride a lot, then not worth paying for all rides wrist band. Going out of the garden and returning again will need to pay a... More

We visit here in late November when it had become a winter wonderland. It's a great place for a family or if you're just a big child. Rides are exciting and the overall atmosphere is really just magical.

Staying in Inner Vesterbro

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner Vesterbro
This neighbourhood is home to Tivoli Gardens, a world famous amusement park and beautiful garden always worth a visit. Just west of Tivoli, you’ll find Copenhagen Central Station, from where you can reach just about every part of Denmark within 5 or 6 hours, or you can reach Copenhagen Airport in less than 15 minutes. Next to the Central Station, you’re in the middle of “old” Vesterbro, where several cultures and hundreds of languages are spoken in an area not more than one square mile. This neighbourhood is considered one of the most trendy places to live in and to visit in Copenhagen. For a real treat, visit Kødbyen ("meat town"), home to several restaurants, cafés and nightclubs, all within a short walk of each other.
