Richard is delightful and makes the history of Copenhagen and Hans Christian Anderson come alive. We learned a lot while touring with him in this delightful city and now want to return because of our enjoyable day with him. He has studied the Danish history...More

I enjoyed re-capping Hans Christian Andersen and some of his books. It was frustrating to stand and listen to some of the stories; more seating would be good. The exhibition was basic and so much more could be done. He did an amazing job writing...More

Richard Karpen is a phenomenal tour guide, and a genuinely nice person. We took both of his tours, the tour of the castle and the walking tour of Copenhagen. His knowledge of the city and the Danish way of life and social contract, which is...More

This tour was great. Richard is a very interesting person. Well traveled and well read. He has great knowledge of Copenhagen and the culture of Denmark and was able to compare and contrast things with the US as that was what the group I was...More

With 3 teenagers we set out for a walking tour with H.C. Andersen, leaving from the TI station near the central station. All of us were entertained and learned so much! (Sometimes hard to entertain teenagers, but he was so funny and interesting!) all about...More

Visited this museum as we were waiting around to go to the airport. It was a lovely museum. Was 120 kroner for two adults (£12) and we were in there a good 2 hours. It spoke about HC Andersen as a boy and growing up...More

I, my wife and two kids (16-year-old and 14-year-old) visited Copenhagen in August 2016. I got to know this tour from Rick Steves' Europe guide book and decided to give it a try. I am very glad to have taken Richard's tour. He is very...More

The charge was $20. We ended at the round tower. Not sure he ends all tours the same place. I would ask at the beginning. It seemed he customized it for the groups interests.
