Truly a world class collection of Islamic art, from the early middle ages and up till about the 18th century. I often come here, just to feel the quiet.

Both my husband and I teach world religions so it was with great anticipation that we arrived at the David collection. We dumped our coats and bags in a locker and were given a handheld tablet which would translate information into English as we moved between exhibits. We started at the top (level four took some finding as the lift... More

Visit, enjoy! Stay for an hour, stay for a day. But don't miss this gem! Free entrance and guided tours. Located conveniently, although not smack in the city centre.

Needs several visits because of the huge collection. It is a great educational experience and lots and lots of artifacts. Great place to learn about the Islamic world

Fantastic little museum in quiet area of town. Friendly staff, free and with free iPad to translate aspects of exhibit in a foreign language. Interesting exhibits which are well laid out in this restored home.

I had never heard of this museum before I discovered it in some brochures while in Copenhagen. As others have written, it is free and the complimentary Ipads allow one to access quite a lot of information on many of the pieces. The quality of the collection is quite high. A wonderful building for this private collection.

The Islamic art is beautifully displayed in a gorgeous former home (or looks like it was a home at one time). The collection is massive and there are ipads that allow you to read in English (unsure of other languages). I went through in a quick visit to see the museum and see if it is a place to bring... We spent an afternoon here but it wasn’t enough. There is a collection of porcelain and art but the jewel in the crown is the Islamic art – ceramics, glassware, calligraphy, armour, tapestries, silks, miniatures, glassware and more. As we approached the end we congratulated ourselves on seeing the whole collection but then one of the curators opened a drawer,... More

Having lived in the Middle East, we enjoy museums with Islamic Art. This one is outstanding, with two floors, wonderfully laid out and displayed. We were amazed at their large collection of miniatures, drawers and drawers full in addition to what is on display. Textiles, calligraphy, functional pieces--they have it all. If you like Islamic Art do not miss the... More
