Is just a small statue. Always crowded with people trying to get the perfect picture. Is super small and a bit disappointing due its size. But of course everyone wants to see it and if you have time you can have a nice walk in the surroundings.

As far as a European statue, you might be under-impressed by this particular one. But you'll be glad to see it as it's an icon. At least it's free & you can get right beside it

The statue is very tiny and surrounded by tourists. Would have expected more. The area is nice with parks and the sea - that is why we give 2*.

Just a small statue with nothing special and a bunch of people queueing to take a picture of it. Not worth the time, just walk a little farther and the place is amazing

The only positive is it's world wide renown from the fairy story. Tourist buses flock to the site in droves. There is a shop where you can buy an ice cream and a few tourist outlets. people jostle to see a small uninspiring statue on a rock whilst the tour guide regales you with instances of the damage that has... The thing you must see in Copenhagen. It's a crowded place so be ready for that. Still think the Mermaid is pretty beautiful.

It is something you must see if you ever grew up reading Hans Christian Anderson. The statue is not that large but then I've never met a mermaid. The tour buses stop for 10 minutes and that's all you need. There is nothing else around it.

A little statue of a mermaid.... not special at all and I can't understand in a city with so many intersting locations, people consider this an icon of the city

She's definitely tiny - and surrounded by tourists- but you can't visit Copenhagen without seeing the lovely little mermaid!
