The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Frederiksberg
Located between Noerrebro and Vesterbro you’ll find Frederiksberg, which is actually a municipality in itself but completely surrounded by Copenhagen. Here there are several fine theaters, from the experimental to the great Det Ny Teater (The New Theater) which specializes in transcribing the great London and New York musicals into Danish, and has done so for several years with huge success. In Frederiksberg you’ll find Denmark’s most beautiful (and expensive) city villas. These 4-5 square miles form the Beverly Hills of Copenhagen. Here you’ll also find Frederiksberg Have (Garden) which sports huge outdoor concerts, from classical to electronic dance music. To top it off, dining options range from cozy family restaurants to some of the area’s most trendy cafés.

This enormous shop has basically the whole collection (as far as I know) on porcelain and some items of Georg Jensen steelware. Also some glassware of Royal Copenhagen is available. The shop sells some first choice porcelain against discounted prices and loads of second choice.
I went there to get second choice Blue fluted / blue musselmalet, plates second choice were not that great, however bowls, mugs, cups etc are of excellent quality, so I was very happy.
The shop also has some great offers on first quality. If you want to buy Royal Copenhagen, then I do definitely recommend the visit.
Just to give an indication on prices: Thermos mug 23cl blue fluted:
price in normal shop DKK 1349,-, price 1st quality factory outlet: DKK 1000,-, price 2nd quality factory outlet: DKK 800,-.

My wife and I stopped in here with another couple to find some classic Royal Copenhagen porcelain for souvenirs and gifts that would have lasting value. Boy, what a find! If the stuff downstairs is too pricy, they have seconds and discontinued lines upstairs for excellent prices.

You can either buy the porcelain at the flagship store on Stroget (pedestrian mall) in the center of the city (they do have some in store specials) but you can also go to the Outlet store if you are trying to fill a void in your collection. However, the outlet store carries mostly a year or two offerings new or seconds so unless it is a relatively new set you are trying to complement, you probably wont find it here. As an added attraction, the store also has some Georg Jensen pieces that are interesting. The store is just next to the grounds of the Fredericksberg castle. Both locations offer refund of the VAT (national sales tax) on purchases over DKR 400 (about 60 bucks US).

Hugely disappointing was expecting to take home a locally made treasure only to find out all the overpriced pottery was made in Taiwan. Additionally this was part of George Jensen Outlet as well and the staff there was condescending and very rude. Not worth the visit.

I always first have a look here before buying any Royal Copenhagen porcellain, glass or Georg Jensen item. Because if you are lucky and they have your chosen item here you can be sure to get a good discount on hte normal price. You also might find items which are no longer in stock and sold at a ridivulous low price . Have a look here - it might be your lucky day!

Royal Copenhagen Showroom in the centre and Factory Outlet in Frederiksberg a worthwhile a visit but the porcelain is unfortunately very expensive ! I was a little surprised that at least one of their new series is produced in Thailand and not in Denmark !

Helpful staff and nice displays of mostly out of production ware. Be mindful of the quality rating (sometimes there is a reason for the bargain price). Certainly less expensive than current items in retail, but expect to spend some real money if you want to take anything home. excellent service and thoughtful wrapping to get your purchases home safely.

I went along with friends who have an interest in purchasing this crockery . Its beautiful now as it was when they first began production in the 1700's... A truly Danish product still going strong it seems . The shop is well laid out and beautifully presented , the staff very helpful and my friend got what she came for .

This shop had a large variety of Royal Copenhagen pieces for sale at good prices. They also had a collection of older pieces on display.

It was worth the exercise to go to the outlet and it is located in a beautiful area but if you are looking for great prices - save your time and just go to the flagship store.

Hi MB-F2013,
Can you please tell me is the Royal Copenhagen Outlet offer a wide range of products? Is it the first quality or the second quality? Do they offer courier service of our purchases to Singapore/other countries? As I do not want to carry all those crockery with me during my trip in Europe....Do they have de-tax services?
Thank you.
