Active neighborhood and commercial shops, restaurants and landmarks throughout the area. Area of the city along the Stroget. Lot of eateries and and shopping around the square. It is a great place to just stroll and enjoying the surroundings. Worth a visit!

While undertaking several shopping expeditions along Copenhagen's premier shopping street, we had cause to pass through this large city square on a number of occasions. Each time we were there, the square was almost overflowing with tourists and locals. This was no doubt due to...More

If you do not start your city walking tour here, plan to make it one of your stops. A fountain providing water to locals since the 1600’s featuring a little boy urinating under the watch of a pregnant lady squirting water from her breasts. A...More

One of the nicest squares along Stroget. Nice, romantic cafes and outdoor places/restaurants. The Caritas Well, the oldest fountain in Copenhagen, is its distinctive "landmark".

One of many "squares" in Copenhagen! Surrounded by a few bars and restaurants! I'm sure you'll like atleast one of them!

After strolling Stroget we came out into this large open space with a lovely fountain. Not too much going on, but as we needed lunch we checked out the restaurants and chose City Kroen. It is very old and serves true Danish food - not...More

A huge square (actually, it's 2 squares adjointed), but somehow empty. No banches or light at night, one food stand and not crowded.

The Gammeltorv is a very large square that is very nice and it has the beautiful Caritas Well, a Renaissance fountain erected by King Christian IV in 1610. When we were there recently, we saw a market selling Italian food that seemed to be very...More
