The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

Place for many public events, many shops, cafes and restaurants. City hall building in one side, Tivoli on other side. Greatly accessed by public transport or bicycles 🚲 Twin attraction with city hall building

Nice square, quite busy but spacious, shops, café, hotels and towers surround the statues and fountain. A paved area with some kiosks selling fast food.

This square unites the railway station and Tivoli Gardens with the busy pedestrian Strøget shopping district .

This plaza is a central meeting point for doing most things in Copenhagen, such as strolling Stroeget or visiting Tivoli Gardens—one can walk most anywhere from here, or take public transit, of course. There is not much to interact with here aside from photo ops of City Hall, but the area is safe, clean, and deserving of a hello.

Hall adorning the city center. Flanked by a dragon monument and those of Hans Andersen . Right smack at the city center, at the Storget walk. Must source for photograph enthusiasts.

City Hall of Copenhagen. The clock tower was built by Jens Olsens. At the end of the Stroget pedestrian walking street, and right by the Trivoli amusement park, a great place to sit and people watch.

The Town Hall is an imposing structure dominating this square. We sat in a cafe and just watched the square for a while. It is busy with many cars and people cycling on the huge roads. There is the red and blue line metro station here.

Attractive square dominated by the City Hall but with several other attractive buildings too. I was there early morning on a Sunday when several Sunday stalls were being set up.

This huge expanse is a good place to view the Town Hall and other buildings and towers in the vicinity. I found it quite an ordeal to cross the roads surrounding the square due to all the traffic and few safe crossing points.
