Taking place at noon daily at the Amalienborg Palace, this is certainly a crowd-puller and the crowds started gathering around the square 10 minutes before the procession. The soldiers look like the toy soldiers that most of us boys played with as kids :) Time...More

It’s a great experience to stand in this square and watch the change of her Majesty’s Guard. A nice tradition that is kept alive. It happens at noon everyday, but you may want to come 10-15 minutes earlier as it's pretty crowded.

If you have seen change of guards in other countries, then you can give this a skip. Having said that, if you are planning to go to the Amalienborg Castle, there is no harm in checking the time of the ceremonies and plan accordingly. This...More

The Amalienborg Castle offers both change of guards and a museum with a permanent and changing exhibition. I enjoyed the one with HRH Queen Margarethe's costume and set designs. Very colourful.

It’s a great experience to stand in this square and watch the change of her Majesty’s Guard. However, if you’ve ever seen this change of guard in black and red in the UK, then this might not be that exciting.

Just part of going to Copenhagen. Nice simple ceremony around noon, band marching around and changing of the guard.

Amalienborg was originally built for four noble families; however, when Christiansborg Palace burned on 26 February 1794, the royal family bought the palaces and...More

When I travel I like to take in activities like this - we missed the earlier changing in the day but were in the area and made it a point to stick around for the afternoon ceremony. I think it's worth seeing if you have...More

The most boring changing of the guard ceremony I've seen anywhere. Only about 18 soldiers participated in what was mostly standing and waiting, with literally nothing happening. No band. Spend your time elsewhere in Copenhagen and go to London, Stockholm, Ottawa or any other place...More
