This very large bronze equestrian statue of King Frederik V dressed as a Roman Emperor complete with a laurel head piece and holding a baton dominates the Amalienborg Square. The statue was inaugurated in 1768.

The statue is not spectacular but it is certainly grand and part of the Amalienborg experience. Central to the square, palace and near the marble church (wonderful meeting place). Part of the overall must go see Amalienborg experience.

It's a statue. Of Frederik V. I am not sure how something like this could be either excellent or terrible. I mean, it is just a statue, of Frederik V, in the middle of Copenhagen.

The statue is impressive to see in person and combined with the architecture and courtyard colors makes for a good experience. It is quite large so you need to stand a bit away vto view it properly and then maybe closer to see details.
