Our stay in Copenhagen saw us visit the Amalienborg Square on three separate occasions. One occasion was for the "Changing of the Guard" ceremony and the other two occasions was when we just happened to be passing through this prestigious and elegant square. The "Changing...More

Or, in the words of ABBA, "Money, money, money, it's a rich man's game." I rest my case. This spectacular piece of sculpture was paid for by a wealthy person (head of the Asiatic Company) who pledged the $$$ to construct this monument. And then...More

One of the many horsey statues of one of the many Frederiks dotted around Copenhagen. This one is big and very impressive in the centre of Amalienborg so you'll see him when you visit the palaces and / or the changing of the guard.

As you cross through the square to watch the changing of the guard, you cannot miss this statue that is the focal point of the square. It is worth walking over to appreciate.

This one is a big statue. Real big. And it's fairly detailed. So as far as a statue goes it's pretty nice. Then against statues don't do much and take 2 minutes to look at.

This is a lovely statue of King Frederik V, located in the middle of Amalienborg square. While the statue is not too impressive, it does have an imposing quality to it and is worth a quick look.
