We visited this museum in February and so wasn't able to go onto the fjord but will be back. The ships are amazing and also the workshop is so impressive.

This little museum is built at the water's edge specifically to contain the skeletons of several Viking long boats. It is a stunning location. Mock-ups of a Viking long boat with a chance to channel your inner Viking by dressing up in traditional clothing. There...More

Came here with my brothers during a roadtrip in the 70s and always remembered this as one of those special and historically significant beautiful museums. Definitely not disappointed this time, all those years later. The setting on the fjord and the exhibition itself are gorgeous,...More

The Roskilde vikingship museum is excellent the display of the 5 Vikingships is impressive and worth the visit. The look and feel of the museum gets a bit outdated though especially for children it should be made more interesting. The film they show is from...More

Don't go here expecting a large museum. This small museum has several viking ship skeletons; several replicas that are currently being worked on; a large play area for kids to pretend to be vikings on a ship (the kids there were having a grand time);...More

How would you protect a town in a fjord? I will not tell you - you will find the answer in the museum and the same answer answers also several other questions which I wouldn't even ask because I come from a fjordless country :)...More

If possible, watch the film first. We had 30 minutes to browse before the film started in English, but once we watched the film, it made sense and I appreciated the reconstructed ruins so much more! They have an area for kids to dress up...More

Interested history and impressive archaeology. Kids / teens got a bit bored as there’s a lot of reading and not much in the way of interactive exhibits. Worth a visit though for sure.

Hello - yes you can. All instruction will be given in English. A 'normal' boattrip has many different nationalities - and they always work very good together! Sincerely, Rikke
