We did this early last year and were meant to leave a review and weve just been reminicing how fantastic this was. Great communications, funny, very knowledgable. Taken down by Brad, Really kind. My husband Nick had a fantastic time going down solo with great tips and instruction from Brad, whilst i held on for dear life in the back of the tandem! Brilliant trip. Thankyou so much. Incredibly sad that we live half the world away.

We had the most incredible experience as a family rafting with #rotoruarafting. Jack was our boat captain, safety observer and taxi driver (hotel pickup for free!!!!). I think my wife and daughter liked the way Jack looked but I was more impressed with his humor and rafting skills. So we have done a lot of traveling and a lot of high adrenaline activities as a family. This rafting trip was our new #1 activity. I can not believe for such a low price we could have had so much fun and been so tired. The entire experience was over in only 2 hours but we were pooped. It was so intense and we paddled hard. But it was so, so, so worth it. The entire family was almost speechless afterwords. It was intense but so much fun. Just look at all the waterfall pictures. It’s almost impossible to express how thrilling and exhilarating it was to take this trip. When we visit again, it will be our #1 repeat excursion.

I spent several days with the Kaituna Kayaks team, kayaking on many rivers in the region (Rangitaiki, Kaituna, Lower Wairoa, Tarawera, Aniwhenua, and Tongariro). Bradley and Rhys safely led us down (new to us) rivers with watchfulness, expertise, encouragement, and fun. Bradley is quite keen on river etiquette and proper paddling technique. He has a commanding presence on the river and helps paddlers relax in fluid situations all the while helping his clients notice the beauty and excitement of the surroundings. Bradley patiently invests time in boaters to impart of his knowledge to help them increase their skill level, but he also persists in running sound logistics of gear, shuttles, river running, and transportation. Bradley has a near permanent smile on his face and loves to share not only his talents and local rivers with people, but also other fun features such as waterfalls, hot springs, glow worm caves, ocean swimming, and epic hikes. And he is always willing to take your picture. Rhys is great at encouraging paddlers to explore new elements with fun suggestions of trying different things on the river. He is readily available to provide suggestions and technique to up your game, and is willing to model moves time after time. Rhys is a hard worker in organizing and executing river trips, but also expects his paddlers to work hard on improving their own skill levels. Rhys is a very capable boater and I appreciate that he allows people the opportunity to expand their individual efforts before intervening (but he will always have your back!). The Kaituna Kayaks team consists of competent, skilled river folk. It takes a lot to try their patience. They run a solid operation for multiple skill levels and give paddlers the opportunity to experience the river in very rewarding ways. The stoke is real with Kaituna Kayaks!

I can’t compliment Bradley and Rhys enough! In nine days of paddling, they never stopped hustling and making sure everyone in our large and diverse group of kayakers had the best possible experience. Our group arrived in the late afternoon and Bradley and Rhys had us all sorted out with boats and gear in short order and then on the Kaituna river for shakedown paddle where we assessed the gear and they assessed each of our abilities. After that we paddled a different, beautiful, fun, and challenging river every day. In addition to the kayaking, every day had some wonderful off-river adventures including a night hike through a glow-worm cave, soaking in a natural hot spring, great local bars and restaurants, Tongariro Alpine Crossing, etc. In short, paddling with Kaituna Kayaks is a Must-Do adventure when visiting New Zealand!

My family (me, husband, son) joined Kaituna Kayaks for a 10 day adventure, with kayaking (Level 2-4), tandem kayaking, and some other nature outings each day, including a visit to natural hot springs, an evening visit to a cave of glow worms, and an incredible volcano hike. On and off the river, from sun up until well after dark, Bradley and Rhys were exceptionally skilled and caring guides. Thank you to Kaituna Kayaks for one of our best family vacations ever!
