Come along to the world’s largest underground iron-ore mine. We go by bus directly from the Tourist Center into the mountain and down to the show mine LKAB’s Visitor Centre at level 540 metres. Here in Kiruna much revolves around our mine. The guide will talk about modern mining and how it can cause a whole town to be moved. Coffee and cookies will be served in the cafe. A warm welcome!

Thank you Fletch45 for the nice reviews. I believe that most of the guest have the same opinion as you. The mine is very interesting to visit because here you will learn everything from history to todays mining technique.

Nice to learn about the mine and how it is effecting Kiruna. Impressive to drive up to 500 meters below ground surface with the bus. Good english tour as well.

This tour is a must-do to learn about the history of Kiruna and the mining industry. It was also very interesting to learn about the city moving 3kms to allow further mining underneath the town. The underground museum was fun to muck around in!

Unfortunately we did not enjoy this tour. It was a boring, filled with corporate propaganda, with little explanation of the process of extracting the ore. However, the mines are very essential part of Kiruna's history; without the mines, probably Kiruna would not be there.More

We are glad we went on this tour. It is very long time-wise and sprinkled with a bit too much with corporate spin, but we learned a great deal, and if you are in Kiruna, how can you not do this tour?
