What a magnificent castle built in the 1200's truly stimulates the imagination of times that were. An Oland Treasure. Free of charge to walk around the outside, parking needs paying (various charges), dog friendly.

This is one of the most beautiful ruines I have ever visited. It's huge and really spectacular ! You can walk around for a long time and each time discover different spots. A must do when you are on Öland !

Impressive for a quick 2 hour tour, good views to the water from the slott. the walk to nature-reserve outside is impressive but difficult with small children. Overall nice to see when you are in oland but not must :)

Unfortunately, visited in the off-season. But enjoyed walking around outside and looking over the Strait of Kalmar and the charming town of Borgholm. Worth the trip!
