It was great getting to see so many windmills on Oland. They are in various stages of repair. Some more picturesque than others. The wildflowers along the route were just perfect in July.

Windmills, the entire island of Öland is full with them. These are really nice since there are so many of them together. Really nice to see though be careful with the busy road, can be dangerous when you want to take a picture and don't...More

Windmills are plentiful on Öland, so going to this specific location is only worth it if you are nearby. The spot is special as there are 4 windmills in a row, making for a good picture, especially towards sunset. Tip: drive a couple of kilometers...More

The most picturesque wind mills on the island are worth a visit. We even klimbed in one of them. Interesting to see the interior

These windmills are always open (at least one of them) and you can go inside and visit them. There is also a nice poppy field by the windmills. Beautiful landscape!

This particular spot is nice yes but the fascination is about the very old wooden windmills which are actually all over the island, no need to drive so far in just to see them

Here you'll see the unique windmills that are a symbol of Öland, where parking is excellent, a gift shop and a hut for drying Flax along with a view of the Baltic Sea.

Situated by the road that travels up the eastern side of the island, just a case of parking on the side of the road and taking them in. One was, and I think generally is, open to allow a look inside. Extremely well preserved and...More

Having spent the day travelling around Southern Öland we had become very attached to the little windmills we saw at every turn and we're delighted when we came across the five at Lerkaka! With care you could look inside and they make such an impressive...More
