The ferry terminal is in the middle of town and very accessible. It was a pleasant crossing over to Denmark where transport is available to get you around should you require or you can take your vehicle over for the day and enjoy more of Denmark. The only other alternative to this crossing is over the Oresund Bridge which is... More

The bridge from Malmo to Kobenhavn further down the Oresund between Denmark and Sweden is very expensive to cross so the ferry from Helsingor to Helsingborg operates still day and night, every twenty minutes during the day.It turns round in about ten minutes loading and unloading dozens of trucks and cars plus drivers and the short crossing takes twenty minutes.Foot... Thanks god it only takes 20 minutes. The standard of the ferry is NOT very high, restaurant and food is expensive, but NOT good. Why do have Tax free? Very expensive. The only positive thing to say about the ferries, it 40 km shorter compared to the Øresund bridge and the view is great - especially with Kronborg castle.

Catch the ferry to Elsinore and eat some danish ice-cream or just stay on the ferry for a nice meal. This is a cheap and nice way to go abroad for the day! We do it often!

Excellent trip from Helsingor (Denmark) to Helsingborg (Sweden). Only took about 20 minutes to get there, which leaves you plenty of time to enjoy the views. A return ticket is also very reasonably priced!

I travelled out of season in March, so maybe they were not as busy as in season on the Puttgarden - Rødby crossing. The whole thing was effortless, pull up to a booth and you can pay and for me within less than 5 minutes later I was on the ferry. You can get food, or just coffee and of... More

We had a rental car and boarded the ferry at Helsingor to Helsingborg. We explored that area of Sweden as we made our way to Malmo. Then we crossed the Oresund Bridge to return to Denmark. Made for a delightful day.
