Beautiful building that has given Malmo some iconography at long last. The area around it is also nice and works as a nice brisk walk in the sunshine.Visited September 2023Travelled soloWritten September 27, 2023

- AlbertSalichsManresa, Spain22,068 contributionsWonderful tower from Sweden and Denmark!HSB Turning Torso is a wonderful tower located in the surroundings of Malmö (in a modern area), one of the most important cities in Sweden. In fact, it is a very high tower, which you can see from Denmark (from Dragør harbour, from the other side.of the Øresund bridge). Really fantastic views! We saw it from here and we went to the tower. From below the tower, you can see awesome views. Really it is a very beautiful place. Pitifully, when we went here (in August-2023), it was closed and we could not go up the tower. We only see it from below, but it was impressive: my daughter and I enjoy taking a lot of photos! Very recommended! I hope to return and go up!Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten June 10, 2024

Spent a few nice minutes taking pics of this iconic structure in Malmo, Sweeden. Really unusual and breathtaking. I am unsure how they built this structure in such a confined space. Wish the building itself was open to the public... would have enjoyed taking photos inside and at the top.

Pretty nice skyscraper. There is a cheap parking lot just across the street (Lidl). Recommend to take a short walk around and get to the coast thru the nice park. There are nice sea swimming spots.

It's a nice and interesting building, a must see in Malmö but don't go to Malmö just to this, it's not that special. You can't really go up in there but it's interesting to look at from the outside as well. It's in a nice and modern neighborhood, a bit industrial, it's nice to walk around there.

Turning Torso is the tallest skyscraper in Sweden and the Nordic countries, situated in Malmö, Sweden, located on the Swedish side of the Öresund strait. Upon completion, it was the tallest building in Scandinavia, the tallest residential building in the EU and the second tallest residential building in Europe.
It was designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava and officially opened on 27 August 2005. The tower reaches a height of 190 metres with 54 stories.
The building consists of 9 blocks, a complete turn of the highest one in comparison to the lowest is exactly 90 degrees. From some angles the view is of falling tower, not only turning...LOL
The different story is the location and the area where the building was erected. The Baltic Sea and the view to Oresund strait are just magnificent additions to the picture. On a clear day the Oresund bridge is also seen to the left of the quay.
The waterfront is extremely popular for picnics, youth hangout, roller skaters, amateur fooballists, families with children. The atmosphere is rejuvenating and VERY airy.........may be even too windy in March....but the view buys it all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To get there form Malmo Central Station you have to take BUS 2 ( direction to Scania) and alight at Turning Torso stop.
The views and area access is free, you pay only for the bus ride.
Enjoy...........especially on a sunny bright day!

This residential skyscraper is 190 m high and it is the highest building in Scandinavia. I had a great view of this building from the hotel (not from the room because I had the view of sea). It is very interesting but not open to the public.

This summer the Turning Torso skyscraper in Malmo opened on selected days for trips to the 54th floor. Tickets were for sale through turningtorso.se - 195 SEK for an adult ticket or 500 SEK for a family ticket. The visit lasted around an hour. We were escorted to the 54th floor where we saw a slide show presentation about how the building was built (in Swedish.) We were then free to walk around and take in the views from all sides of the top floor of the building. There is no outdoor viewing area but free telescopes were provided to help with looking out to Denmark, the bridge and Malmo city. Amazing views, professional hosting and a great trip to the top of a very cool building!

Can you go to the top? Some people in the reviews say you can't and some say they did, so I'm confused.
Written August 25, 2017
In 2018 is open to the public
from Juli 10 to August 5
entrance was 195Skr (approx $26-28) and takes about 60-80min.
you get to the top 54th floor conference floor, inside there is binocular you can use there is a 15min info about the construction, condos, facilities ect.
There is no outside view.
If you are in the area in that period and like good cityviews it's worth a visit.
