Gustav Adolfs Tort is one of some squares located near the old town of Malmö, one of the most important cities in Sweden. It is located near the water channel and it is a modern square built in the 19th Century after city walls are demolished. It is ok, a place you walk if you go to the old town.

Malmo is place for many restaurants, coffee shops, pubs and art. This place is surrounded by options for eating and shopping. Fountains ⛲️ flowers 🌹, people resting on benches. In the afternoon there was some loud demonstration…connected to biggest Malmo pedestrian shopping street and having King’s park just few hundred meters

Did a bit of shopping here for a family member and it was a nice cultural square with a relaxed atmosphere and a real easy place to sit, relax and reflect.

During my visit, it seemed that there are some constructions going on near the Public Toilet area. I lke the fountains, the beautiful flowering tulips, vendors selling fruits, vegetavles and flowers, some stands offering fast foods ( were still closed during my early morning visit), restaurants, coffee shops, etc.

What is lacking at this Square are benches for one to sit down and enjoy the ambience!

Gustav Adolf Torg is arguably the worst square in Malmö.
A Poor excuse for a vast centrally placed former traffic roundabout. Things must have looked very different here before Malmö made the fateful decision to abolish all their tramways back in the 1970s (a development thankfully not emulated by Gothenburg), and the perhaps even more ominous present inclination to avoid reintroduction (contrary to stockholm and Lund).
An abundance of eyesores and bad planning. Windswept and forlorn, 1981 style.

One of the big squares of the city. But it has absolutely nothing special, it is absolutely banal, surrounded by buildings with nothing special from an architectural point of view. In the middle was a street market for fruits, vegetables and flowers. Some shops on the sides and that’s all.

Malmo has a number of large squares. This one has a grave yard and park in the middle with some fountains. You are likely to walk through it and it is pleasant but not memorable.

The square was nice, a lot of food, but to me it was nothing special, I liked other things in Malmö better.

You will already pass thru two squares by the time you reach Gustav Adolfs Torg. Unlike the previous two, this square is more like a local market square with many tents and booths selling locally grown products and lots of prepared foods. There are some restaurants surrounding the square also. Nice for strolling and absorbing local culture. Named after King Gustav.

There were none of your usual tourist cafés here, but a market selling local vegetable produce, mothers with their children, couples and dog walkers relaxing. I found it quite pleasant. Gamla Kyrkogården, the cemetery turned into a park leads directly off this square.
