We visited late one afternoon, and managed to see a large part of the exhibits. Mostly because you're forced to walk through a lot of it, then have to retrace your steps to get out. Some of the displays were decidedly dated.

The museum is housed in a castle, and entry was extremely cheap, especially for a student. There were many different exhibits, some with English descriptions. Unfortunately, not all exhibits had information in other languages, so I wasn't able to enjoy those. I thoroughly enjoyed the exhibit about the jail. It was very interactive with doors to open and cells to... More

A monumental building for the city of Malmo with multiple uses during the centuries as king's house, warehouse, jail and lately as museum. The museum contains an art collection of Scandinavial artists, a photography exhibition and a small museum of natural history. With the same ticket someone can visit the maritime museum nearby.

I couldn't believe how cheap this museum's entry fee was. Only 20 kr as a student, and you get access to the entire building, both the museum and the art gallery. They are always switching up their exhibits, so they keep it fresh and interesting. There is a lot to learn in here about Swedish history, which I always enjoy.... More

As others have noted, there are a variety of exhibitions inside and some work better than others for the English speaking visitor. For example, the section on children toys and activities is excellent and must be curated by someone who really cares, with many headphones offering English commentaries on displays. The natural history and geology section - which you can... More

Malmo museer is an old castle and has a range of different exhibitions running, from old childrens toys to Viking weaponry. The great thing about the place is this diversity; if you're not interested in one thing, you're bound to find something in the next room that will have you spellbound.

Malmo Museer is actually the city's castle that houses many small museums inside including a small part about the history of the castle. Although they did not have anything spectacular inside, the site was well managed and and we found the parts we visited to be interesting. It worth a stop if you are in Malmo (tickets only cost SEK... More

The main castle and arts part of the museum is pretty average, particularly if you have been to a few museums or castles in your time. However, if you've got kids, then the Science and technology museum is a must visit. The interactive area upstairs is fascinating, as is the Uboat. (not for the claustrophobic and those who don't like... More

Took our two kids here (ages 2 and 5) because it was raining too much to hang outside all day. Price to get in was great (80 Swedish kroner) for all 4 of us (kids are free). This included access to 3 museums. We went to 2 of them. The first was the Malmo Museer which had a bit of... More
