We visited this museum after having read about it on Tripadvisor. I am so glad we went. I had no clue about the history of the safety match and how little Jönköping dominated the world for many years! There are two threads to the story...More

Today we went to the museum. It's a challenge to find a parking in the neighborhood. We parked our car at Parkinghus Sesam (Bredgränd 1). Don't park your car at the train station, it's only allowed for an hour. The builings around the museum are...More

Nice on a rainy day but not sure it would be worth visiting with the sun outside. ForEnglish speaking people signs in Swedish only must be a disappointment -perhaps this place is more a local "must"

Interesting to learn how even something we think of as incredibly mundane, such as safety matches, were at one time quite revolutionary, and how the development of manufacturing automation impacted even this product in incredible ways. The movie offered about the history of the company...More

An interesting museum to visit if you're visiting Jönköping. Most of the information and signposts are in Swedish, but you can still understand the basic idea. Lots of the original machinery to see and a nice spot, where you can make your own matchstick box!
