We only had an hour until closing time, and just went to the free permanent exhibit about architecture in Sweden. It was fascinating, with a lot of information about how policy influenced housing design, loads of photos, models and questions to ponder. Clearly this center...More

The exposition gives a nice overview of the architectural history of Sweden. It is a rather small collection that takes no more than an hour to visit. Admission is free.

It is a small museum but we enjoyed the visit. It is by the Moderna Museet, same entrance. They share a Museum Shop with interesting things to buy. The island is very nice so the walk to the museum and back is very enjoyable.

The Ark/Des is the section of Moderna Museet devoted to architecture and design. We were lucky to see a very good exhibition about Josef Frank's wonderful work. What I would really recommend is the restaurant, it's inside the Ark/Des section - not the cafe of...More

The museum is located in a breathtaking location and is free! I've been there twice- the first was amazing with a beautiful exhibition (august 2013) and the second time was a little bit disappointing (October 2016). Overall great place to visit!

When I visited this museum it seemed to mainly feature Swedish domestic architecture of the mid 20th Century. This was somewhat interesting and discussed the Swedish approach to housing in the context of then current social and political thought. Overall it was not a large...More

The Architecture and Design museum shares the same building as the Moderna Museet. There is free entry to ArkDes and on our visit the special exhibit was about ‘Housing. Now. Then.’ It addressed the previous 99 years of housing issues and responses. The housing crisis...More
