This museum covers the 'modern' period as opposed to the Medieval one, that is the history of the city from ca 1550 to modern times. It has a lot to show on a couple of floors. The location is strategic at the communication hub Slussen....More

at Slussen, a busy corner in Stockholm, you find this museum showing Stockholm during centuries... Very interesting if you like history, but it also shows thoughts about the future

Stockholm City Museum offers a walking tour (The Millennium Tour) that ought to be separately listed by TripAdvisor as a tour rather than a museum. The Millennium tour costs about $20/person, lasts about 2 hours, and includes 6 stops around Sodermalm. Tickets are available at...More

Walked all the way around it before we found the entrance - signs not good. Admission was free. It isn't huge but packs a lot of interesting exhibits into a small space. Would thoroughly endorse it for anyone who has Stockholm ancestors, like me. You...More

We stopped in here because we passed it during one of our walks - and it is free. This was a very interesting museum. Some exhibits more than others. It was interesting to see some historical aspects of Stockholm as well as how city life...More

and controversial neighborhoods. Plans to rebuild the
area have been on the agenda for decades, however, so
far no agreement could be reached, which is the reason
for the continuing decay of its brutalist substance.
Nevertheless, the museums and the main shopping
