We spent the majority of our free time on this island as our hotel was located here, but we enjoyed the views and how serene the area was. The castle was nice as are the water views. If you have free time and want to sit and soak in some nice views, I would strongly recommend you come visit.

This hotel is a lovely oasis in central Stockholm, set apart from downtown crowds and traffic by a short walk (or taxi ride) over a bridge. Sit on the terrace or in the lovely dining room and enjoy the pretty setting. Our room was small and immaculate with hi-tech features in the bathroom. Service was excellent and we hope to... More

Worth walking all the way round, past classic yachts and traditional buildings, plus the modern art museum. Feels like you are a million miles from the shopping streets of central Stockholm.

Skeppsholmen is such a lovely place with it's green areas and cozy houses. The view from the island is amazing, you can make great pictures of Gamla Stan, Djurgården and Blasieholmen. You can also take the boat services to the other points of Stockholm. Taking a long walk here is a perfect programme if you want something relaxing and easy.

Bus 65 can take you from TCentralen to this area. It is lovely and as if made for a long nature walk along the water. A must do when visit Stockholm, a must do when you live in it. Museums, a church, bridges, boats... everything is there for a pleasant afternoon. And it is of course even better in summer...

Peaceful island that occupies central spot in harbour. A nice stroll or bike ride to it or around it. Very interesting to see the boats moored up around this and the linked island.

Really pleasant island, to visit by bike or on foot, with a good view of the royal palace and of Gamla stan.

Skeppsholmen is great for a little stroll, there are some cafes, restaurants, museums and green areas all surrounded by water. The hotel Skeppsholmen is a lovely place to eat.. Or just take a Swedish "fika" (cup of coffee) outside on their terrace.

Beautiful little island. You cannot enter the castle, but it is fun to walk around the outside and get the lay of the land and watch the ferries coming and going.

I was a bit worried about staying on Skeppsholmen as I didn't know how far it was from other places in the city. However, it is very accessible and takes approximately 15 - 20 minutes to walk into the heart of Gamla Stan. Lovely island with gorgeous buildings and home to the museum of modern art. Path along the waterside... More
