Watching a moving production of Jenufa with an exceptional cast, sipping champagne in the gold foyer at intermission (which you can preorder online), and entering the gorgeous chambers and the opera theater itself in this wonderfully ornate setting. It was an experience to cherish!

Saw a production of two of Puccini's shorter operas here; beautiful hall, and cheap student tickets at only 25 euros for amazing seats

I attempted to see an opera here when visiting Stockholm but unfortunately there was a Swedish opera showing and there weren't any surtitles in English) or at least that was what I was told. The building looks pretty from the outside, although I probably should have made the effort to look at it properly during the day.

This is not the original building where the king Gustav III was killed; for this reason 'Il ballo in maschero' is regarded a 'Swedish opera'. This opera house was inaugurated in 1898 by king Oscar II. He came from the same family that sits in the Swedish throne now; quite a fan of culture, too, had another theatre downtown named... More

There’s no classier way to spoil yourself than to catch a show at the Kungliga Operan. You’ll regale in the 1800s majestic neo-classical building that greets with a magnificent gold foyer and elegant marble grand staircase leading to a three-tiered auditorium which fits 1200 guests. Though most productions are in the original language (with Swedish subtitles), with only a few... More

The best performance of La Boheme I have ever seen! The performance has an amusing Scandinavian twist with profound humor. Highly recommendable!

The Opera House is beautiful inside and outside. Great architecture for those interested. Gorgeously decorated inside likewise. The actual stage and seating area is smaller than one might imagine which makes for a very cozy and intimate setting. The operas played here are frequently of a very high quality. Warmly recommended.

A beautiful house, especially on the inside. Great singers and friendly staff. A bit long que in the pause if you want to buy beverages. Worth a visit, even to just step inside the foyer to look at the old costumes and read about the history of the opera.

I have attended the great lunchtime shows at the Opera house the last 2 years. A great experience. There us a set menu with a selection of different music sets depending on days. I just love the experience but the food is OK and the music is fine.
