Fascinating to see the location where the Nobel prizes ( not the Peace Prize which is Norway ) are presented to their worthy recipients from around the globe . Beautiful sculpture on the corner and a nice square next door

Majestic theatre that has a connection to the Nobel Awards. We came by on our bus tour. Worth a brief stop....but don't sacrifice time at other locations.

The azure hued building dominates one side of the marvellous Hotorget. Completed in the mid 1920s, in addition to being the venue for National classical music it is famous as the location for the Nobel prize giving every December. It is gorgeous. Embellishing the front is a wonderful Carl Milles sculpture complex known as Orpheus Well.

This is the place where Nobel Prizes have been presented to the Laureates. The King and Queen and other members of the Royal Family of Sweden are guests of honour of the ceremony. This, ofcourse is one of the prestigious awards and to be able to see the place was such an awesome feeling. I mean seeing it live was... More

There were no concerts when we visited, so we took the tour instead. The tour was informative, providing interesting facts about the concert hall and the Nobel prize ceremony hosted there.

1926 design classic - a visit is a must if you like music, the main auditorium fuses the classic architecture with a modern organ (or maybe it was very ahead of its time!), the chamber music hall is of its day, hand-painted plasterwork mouldings and friezes. Acoustic is great - clear and warm (but not cushioned). Seats comfortable but no... More

The Concert hall is next to a nice square, many people are sitting on the stairs and enjoying the free time. The concert hall itself is really nice, we had a guided tour with many details on how Nobel prices are given. And we were able to sit on the chairs where winners sit!

It was inaugurated in 1926 as one of the masterpieces of the Swedish neoclassical architecture. We had a chance to take a look into the most famous hall. the Grünewald hall. Every year here is the Nobel-prize ceremony. The Konserthuset itself is very nicely decorated. Big mosaics and fescos are in the big foyer.

Opened at 11 and we went in soon after. There was an exhibition of artwork which was good. If you take a tour you pay. Free toilets in here which is a bonus in a city where you seem to have to pay for them.......even in a department store.
