Great to be back at Long Dog

Dropped in to this winery for the first time in several years. Great tastings as usual and came away with several bottles for the wine fridge. Always worth a visit even if it's a... read more

Great wines and very friendly and knowledgeable owner/Vintner, James Lahti. Try his Chardonnays while you are there.

We toured South Bay Region Wineries (East End), 7 in total, that included Long Dog Winery. Half the fun is touring the country side getting to these wineries. Beautiful wines and selection. Hostess was excellent and informative.Grounds are beautiful and very well kept. Worth the trip. Out of the seven wineries we visited the wine and hospitality is worth the... More

My husband and I visited this winery recently on a beautiful afternoon in the County. We met the owner, who was tending his vines when we arrived. The vineyard and winery are located in a beautiful country side setting. We learned some interesting facts pertaining to growing grapes in the vineyard, which surrounds the tasting room. The owner had much... More

Upon reading some of the negative reviews I wanted to say that I've been here several times and it has always been a good experience. We really enjoy the Pinot and Chardonnay from Long dog and always leave with a few bottles.

From a wine tasting experience, I expected more. I was hoping to learn a bit more about the winery, how the wines are made, the wines themselves... The standard you'd expect at any tasting. In this case I didn't feel like we got any of it. The wines themselves were ok, but the experience is not worth the hike.

I was surprised to read that others have had negative experiences with Victoria. Both James & Victoria were incredibly welcoming (and we showed up at towards the end of the day). We met the dogs, James shared his knowledge and passion with us, and we tasted some fabulous wines. It is off the beaten path a bit but well worth... More

I don't normally write a review when I have a bad experience as I like to focus on the positive and share the "delights" in life but in this case, I feel an obligation to strongly caution others before venturing to Long Dog. I went with a friend this last weekend on the recommendation of someone who worked at one... More

Great wine! We enjoyed the tasting and walked away with a couple of bottles that were enjoyed when we returned home.

Long Dog Winery makes some excellent Pinot Noir wines. We usually buy wines from Burgundy but have found their wines to be a very good alternative. It's worth going to this winery, and James is very knowledgeable (as one of the other reviewers mentioned).
