Nice collection of modern prints, classical and folkloristic art and when we visited an interesting temporary exhibition on Hagstrom guitars. The permanent exhibition on Dalecarlia carved horses (classical & modern) is not to be missed.

Some parts were a simple idiocy, some were very informative. There is a section devoted to Selma Lagerlöf which could have been better. One can learn a bit about Dalarna - its history and development. A small part is dedicated to musical instruments, namely guitars....More

Located in downtown Falun, this is a free museum of multiple rooms and floors that presents the history of the Dala horse and has many displays to view. Sits on the river.

A good collection of Swedish traditional textile and the Dalahorses, but a bit more information about the horse itself could be added perhaps. More captions in English would be nice as well.

A great textile and painting collection housed in a small, well curated space in the center of town. We enjoyed the guitar exhibition too and were happy we stopped by after our pilgrimage to Carl Larsson Gardens.

And Free! A complete collection from pre-historic artifacts to art collections, and the most interesting to me, the Dalarna horses! The museum is very central; go there and learn a bit about the region!

Mostly interesting exhibits, one finds clues to the county's many cultural expressions. Within reach are freshly baked pastries and a well stocked museum shop.
