The beach of Foz do Arelho is the nearest from the city of Obidos (a 15 minutes drive). The place is quiet and beautiful. A beautiful lagon as well.

This beach is fantastic! Miles of clean sand so it never feels crowded. There is free parking and good toilet facilities. Would advise children and weak swimmers to use the lagoon side as the Atlantic side has very strong surf and tides. There are plenty...More

I can literally not say a bad word about this beach. It is amazing. So quiet, chilled, clean, tidy and beautiful. Plenty of icecream stops and restaurants along the beach. Football goals and volley ball nets to. It is literally perfect.

The enormous sand dunes are completely free from rubbish, and this is a surfers paradise with hefty Atlantic waves. Plenty of lifeguards on duty (4 on the quiet day we visited). A few restaurants along the beachside, some good, some so-so. Easy to pick from...More

We visited the Foz de Arelho beach a couple of times during a stay near Caldas Da Reinha. There are two sides to the beach- the lagoon which is placid with wide stretches of sand but heavily populated and fronted in parts by rows parked...More

Foz beach is our weekly walk since we live nearby. Great exercise because the sand isn't as firm as some others, so you get a great workout. Can walk a long ways, and most times in the morning, it is not very crowded so you...More

In response to the person who suggested you can walk across the lagoon - DON’T. It can be very dangerous and people have got in serious trouble or worse trying to do so. This is a beautiful beach but always take care in the water...More

Yes we definitely saw dogs on the beach. This was October time. Not sure if they have any summer time restrictions though.
