My review comes with the caveat that the square is currently (October 2016) undergoing construction work on what I presume to be the municipal buildings. That means one side of the square is hidden by construction junk. As such, I didn't really find the square to be particularly pretty. The surrounding canals, however, are very picturesque and are a pleasant... More

Ok, it's just a nice square.. but you take the time to look at it carefully, it's truly a hidden gem. I personally loved the gold unicorns in each pole surrounding the square to light this unexpected square.

This is a nice central square especially for a smaller city. There is a very big statue in the center of the square and city hall is on one side. This is also the starting point for the 'train' tour of downtown. Its an easy walk to get here from anywhere.

Nice square in the centre of the city with an impressive statue. Good spot for people watching and the little train tour.

The location of the statue is not far from the train station. Unfortunately there are some big cranes in the back ground that hampers your picture taking of the statue. An important statue for the city to have. We are glad that we got to see it.

The square is not spectacular but the location is great to start or end a tour of city center. Lots of interesting streets around, there is a water canal, nt far to the big gardensm shops,,,and some bus, tram stations close, including the one for the old tram

Apparently the tour guide on the Paddan tour boat informed us all that Gustav Adolfs is pointing at the spot where he said Gothenburg should be founded.

The place is also a great way to discover GTO city,... More
