This, the world's northernmost castle ruin, has an interesting history and is well worth a visit. It dates back to the early 17th century and is strategically situated on a small river island. Information boards give a good background to visitors.

Nice castle ruins, next to an amazing river. You can get some beautiful pictures here. Also a perfect and quick stop for families. The only disappointing thing is that some of the walls have been tainted with graffiti.

This castle is very easily accessible from the city centre. In the summertime this would be a very nice picnic location. We visited in the winter and the stairs were very slippery and it felt a bit unsafe to walk around on the higher levels....More
