Slow life on the lake. Cruise was 2,5 hours. First half captain tells about history on shore and water. Last half was silent, only steam engine voice. You can go to see engine if you ask.

I took a cruise on the steam boat Kouta from Kajaani to island called Ärjä. The boat is really old and fascinating, the lake view is beautiful and the island is a paradise. I couldn't imagine that kind of natural sand beaches to exist here....More

I had my birthday on board with my relatives. I'm originally from Kajaani and wanted something nice for my birthday when visiting there on my birthday. I think this is the nicest thing you can do there, actually :)
