I booked a ~2-hour Alpine Skiing Taster Course for my boyfriend who had never been on skis in his life. After the session, he could come down the blue slopes in a controlled manner and apply the instructions he had been given to improve further....More

Family of four ranging from complete beginner to a good intermediate. I was the complete novice and can’t believe how much our instructor Sami taught me in the week. By the end of it, blue runs were the norm and the confidence he gave me...More

My son is 10 and has been skiing in Finland for several years. The cold is different to the UK as it is a dry cold rather than damp. Make sure you all have thermals and layers as well as goggles and a snood / face mask and you should be fine. A pair of under gloves as well also helps the hands keep warm. We went on a husky ride last week and it was -32C but a it feels a lot colder now I am back in the UK!! The ski school are good at looking after the children and if you are beginners, the slope is near a cafe so you can stop and warm up. Even on the slopes, the instructor will stop for a hot chocolate break if the children want to so they do not get too cold. Hope this helps and that you enjoy your holiday as we did.
