Interesting building with interesting exhibition. At the time I was visiting, there was a exhibition of Mona Hatoum that I found interesting. But the main reason was a photography exhibition of Meeri Koutaniemi who is a excellent photographer.

We were lucky enough to see two excellent, thought provoking exhibitions within. Fantastic space, information in various languages, cafe and easy access for all.

Kiasma is a beautiful building in the middle of Helsinki. We purchased the Helsinki card which got us in for free. There is a free cloakroom and plenty of toilets throughout the gallery which is good considering the amount of floors! It is a large gallery but very easy to navigate and you can do the whole gallery in 2-3... More

A beautiful building (with a nod to MOMA in New York?) and always fantastic exhibitions. This time a Mona Hatoum exhibition was the chief attraction; it was a fantastic show, which was beautifully curated and 'hung'. The bookshop has a wide array and interesting merchandise for sale.

Very exciting collection not only stunning to look at but with a strong emotional base as well. I enjoyed all the exhibitions but Anna Estarriola dreamy pieces of art were my favourites. This museum is definitely a must if you are in town.

Kiasma, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Helsinki, is one of the essential things you need to see in the capital of Finland. Besides interesting exhibitions, Kiasma offers great views outside from the upstairs and from the cafeteria, which has also an excellent terrace during summertime. The library upstairs is like a hidden gem!

Loads of very cool modern art here of all sorts and genres. Interactive things, photo ops, some very moving international exhibits and a stylish building make this a must for art lovers. Great cafe and bookstore too....

Interesting architecture in front of the park. Founded in 1990 with collection from over 4000 artists. Very close to Parliament of Finland.

Displays here are often like a small thing in a big ugly room. Often when going to see en axhibition I wonder if art would be better displayed somewhere else. Stairs, concrete walls and high ceiling tend to take over so that the exhibition itselfs looks too small and vanishes in space.

Kiasma as a piece of architecture and exhibition space is without doubt very attractive. However, some of the 'art' on display is uninspiring and poorly executed. Interestingly I have read some positive reviews of the Mona Hatoum exhibition, with in my opinion summed up what is wrong with some of the work on display. I'm sure there are some really... More
