The collections of the Sinebrychoff Art Museum include some of the most valuable and internationally important paintings by old European masters to be found in Finland. The collections have mainly been made up of donations. The unique house museum of Paul and Fanny Sinebrychoff, a permanent exhibition on the 2nd floor makes up the core of the museum. The art collection of the Sinebrychoffs, including furniture and other artefacts was left to the Finnish government as a bequest in 1921.

This museum has a collection of classic European paintings exhibited in the fine home of a brewer. Especially the first floor is interesting with a reconstruction of his apartment with original furniture.

This mansion was the home of the scion of a wealthy Russian brewing family. The Sinebruchoffs collected fine European paintings, with works by Rembrandt, Cranach, Tiepolo, Corot, and Daubigny, among others. Several lavish period rooms are also featured. Right now there is a special exhibit of beautiful paintings by the Dutch Golden Age artist Caesar van Everdingen, a contemporary of... More

The home museum of the brewery family Sinebrychoff is a cosy little place, where you can enjoy old European classic art in an authentic Finnish early 20th century upper-class environment. We visited to see the temporary Dutch art display of Caesar van Everdingen which was excellent, but the permanent collections were fine too.

I visited here with my wife to join a guided tour of the temporary display of the talented Dutch artist Caesar van Everdingen. The guide was very good and knowledgable, and made the art and the artist and techniques of the era come alive. During the same visit we also got to see the Icons display in the basetment. This... I have been many times to this museum to admire old European Art. The museum exhibits the old European art collections (dating between the 14th and 19th centuries) of the Finnish National Gallery. Earlier the collections were showed in halls as in ordinary museums, but now half of the museum acts as a historic house museum, displaying the 19th century... More

In the cellers of the museum there is currently (until 30th of April 2017) a small but very good exhibition of Russian icons. There is also a short film on the restaurations of one of the icons on display. The icons vary in age the oldest from the 16th century.

The museum was a home of famous beer manufacturer. The best thing is, it displays nowadays wonderful exhibitions of older European art. I visited an exhibition of still lives from the seventeeth century. An hour and a half flied away... The little museum shop is full of carefully thought items reminding of glorious past, a little luxury for life.
