When I stayed in Helsinki I visited Stockmann's daily. It's the Finnish version of Harrods - only better! It was the perfect place for buying presents for friends back home - scarves, chocolate, pottery. It has everything. Lovely coffee shop. Amazing pastries. Heaven!

Excellent service, usually not crowded as is often the case with many popular stores, competitive prices, free gift-wrapping, lots of places to relax between shopping.

There used to be an advertisement "Stockmann - you'll find everything there", and it's still the truth. Stockmann is the oldest and the best department store in Helsinki. Note especially the beautiful building from 1930's. Architect: Sigurd Frosterus.

Non-EU tourists, I suggest the following tips: 1. take the lift straight to level 8, customer service (walk straight ahead once you exit from the lift, and past the cafe). Take a number, and when it's your turn, ask for a tourist discount voucher (10% off). 2. Make sure that you accumulate all your purchases above 40 euros in one... More

You can find everything like in any other capital city department store (Harrods, Galerie Lafayette or Rinascente). Ideal to find Finnish design products; furniture or other complements for the house. Helsinki is not a cheap city and the store is definitely not the place to make bargains.

Stockmann has many floors of lovely clothes, many cosmetic and jewellery concessions on the ground floor. On one of the top floors there's an exciting range of eating options.

I was a frequent visitor of Stockmann's on my recent Helsinki trip. There's a huge supermarket, pharmacy, and plenty of opportunities to eat and drink. I would often eat lunch at Fazer cafe which is located on the 6th floor, from memory. It was mid-February so there were some bargains to be found in all manner of goods. Being able... More
