This museum is a good place for a rainy day. Easy access via tram and several buses. The Rodin sculpture exhibit was well-organize and quite informative. Small gift shop with a good selection. The cafe and bistro are very loud, especially mid-afternoon, but the pastries are great so you might decide it's worth it.

After many times in Helsinki, I finally got to visit their art museum and was vey happy I finally did! Though it is quite pricey to go, I think it does worth it. For art-lovers: it has such a great collection of Nordic art, which is so unique itself and so unique to find. I absolutely loved it, as well... More

Ateneum is the home of the best-loved Finnish classics, particularly from the end of the 19th century and early 20th century. It will always have a nicely curated exhibition of their collections to walk you through the important pieces of Finnish art and art history - but their changing exhibitions are also usually excellent. Check out what is on from... More

Free visit with the helsinki card. Make use of it and visit this superb art museum, which has excellent exhibits from contemporary as well as old time artists. Located very close the train station, easily accesible by foot.

Ateneum is alway showing some classical Finnish art from their collections (at least on one floor). Now they had Rodin and Japanomia exhibitions. Ateneum is extremely beautiful building and worth the visit. Some exhibitions might not always be so interesting but in Helsinki - Ateneum is quite safe choice if wanting to go to some art museum.

A must-see place to spend a couple of hours for those interested in art. Interesting works of Finnish painters, many works of world-known artists. I liked the exhibition of Rodin works the most.

We checked out the museum and found they had two exhibits, one Rodin and one called JapanMania which showed the impact of Japanese art on European artists. Both were well done and worth the nominal entry fee of 13 euros/person. They also had some house art that was worth viewing. They have an area you can hang your coats, but... More

If you only have time for one, pick Ateneum! The building itself is beautiful and the permanent collection is wide and interesting portfolio of paintings and sculptures. Do not forget to visit in the museum shop, there are lovely products from local artisans.

Fantastic museum. The exhibition on re-discovering the Finnish classics was very well structured, and the building itself is very impressive.
