I don't understand why it's on top of TripAdvisor. It's very nice building and has an extensive selection of books. But still, it's just a library!

This library consists of two buildings. The old Dutch late Renaissance style building was completed in 1903. The new building is from 2007. We visited only the old building. It was stunningly beautiful, a must-see place in Turku.

The original library burned down including all the books inside. A very sad history. Now it is a vibrant library with a huge collection or books and periodicals. Worth a visit if you are interested in libraries.

The main library of Turku is built of two parts. The older one is over 100 years old and the newer from 2000’s. At times there’s a difficulty with having a quiet moment to read as in vast areas talking out loud is permitted. Some...More

Apparently the old library is a must see because of it's wooden architecture, inside the building. Yet, I believe it is a must see because of the great work to connect the old and new library. Great location to work and chill.
