A beautiful, charming church, more like a fairytale castle...Was designed by a 24 years old architect, Lars Sonck. He won the design competition 1894 and the church was built 1899-1905 in stile of jugend and new gothic.

Michael's Church finished in 1905 was designed by a famous Finnish architect Lars Sonck. It has a neogothic style architecture. A rich Jugend ornamentation decorates both the interior, the staircases, and the windows. It is absolutely a must-see church in Turku.

Next to the Turku Castle, a must see. An easy, though slightly long, walk along the river/canal make this visit even more enjoyable.

This is a grand church from this last century. So not old but still quite impressive if you are in the area, but don’t make a special trip either.

The church is very beautiful inside and outside. There is a little park across the street from the church.

A real stone symphony! We came up to it pretty late and the church was closed, but the vista of this magnificent masterpiece colored by the last rays of sun is unforgettable. I do recommend this church even for a short visit.

Awesome music: gospel, classic, old style and choirs. This is refreshingly unformal and very 21th century church.

It was closed on a Saturday morning. Looks a fine buidling from the outside, there is a little bit of park even, but you are done with this atttaction in 10 min if it is not open. There seem to be some concerts on Sunday.
