Stefan was one of the best hosts we had during our trip around Iceland. He was very nice and funny. His horses were beautiful. We went riding this January and even though it was really cold, we were out for a little over an hour. Both, my friend and I, are beginners but we were able to trot a bit... More

We only had time for a very short ride, but as I am also a horse breeder and trainer at home I just had to come and have a ride on the iconic Icelandic horses. It was most memorable and a fun outing suitable for anyone. You really should try it as the Icelandic horses are haired with the tilt... More

My mom and I decided to come visit Akureyri from Reykjavik, and boy am I glad we did. This horseback riding tour was the highlight of Akureyri and our Iceland trip overall. We arrived a bit late due to the wintery roads and it was no problem for Stefán, who was our guide for our 1.5 hr tour. He was... More

Most friendly and Memorable part of our holiday. Everyone keen to help all ages of our group have a great stay and ride. Hospitality amazing , generous portions of home cooked food , friendly staff , pets and all the farms animals. Though not an experienced rider I enjoyed our hour ride in the local countryside after a good nights... More

Julianne respond the email quickly and timely. The guide, Ully, is very gentle and nice. Even though we are beginner, we still had great experience of horse riding. Hope we can have much longer time on the horseback.

I was here for a week riding tour of the autumn colours and northern lights. We were picked up at the airport and driven to the farmhouse where we were given lots of tea and cake on arrival, Stefan and Juliane were so friendly. After an excellent dinner we were asked about our riding experience and the type of mounts... More

I'm one of those who likes animals from a distance. Not the sorts who easily pets a dog or, if in Iceland, cuddles a sheep. I'd never ridden a horse before - heck, I'd never even petted one. That should tell you how much of a novice I was - but our two hour ride with Polar Hester was a... More

I can't recommend Polar Hester enough. The horses were a joy to ride - very sensitive and alert and while my sister and I were essentially beginners (we rode as children but hadn't been in a saddle for 15-20 years) the 3 hour ride was still varied and interesting. Our guide Paola was lovely, and we felt like we were... More

We had a great experience with Polar Hestar. Our wonderful guide, Sophie, was such a delight: knowledgeable, informative. funny, and considerate of all participants and riding levels. We booked a one hour tour and our ride was slightly longer; the horses were well trained and the trail was beautiful. We were even provided with coffee, hot chocolate, tea and cakes... More

First off, we lucked out with beautiful weather. Me and my friend had the 3 hour ride along the fjord with amazing horses. We got to trot, gallop and run the horses. The horses were very well trained and took their cues from the horse in front. Excellent desserts and coffee after the ride. Would definitely do this again.
