This is heaven on earth!

I went during the summer so everything was green, full of color and basically fairy-tale like. You have to walk up from the church bur it's worth it, nothing but stunning!

The part we entered had dying plants and I felt a little sad how run-down the place seemed. That said, it seems to run on donations; I wonder how many would donate when the upkeep seems so poor. I suppose it'll be a vicious cycle since no donations means poor maintenance. A statue of someone was located between some flowers... More

It was a nice walk up the hill. I managed it well being pregnant, so nothing too strenuous. We visited in mid-October, so there weren't many flowers still in bloom, but we still enjoyed our stroll through the many little paths. The different sections and vegetation are well indicated and labelled.

We spent a short time here due to the lack of flowers .Yet we enjoyed walking around. The gardens are nicely laid out and well maintained. In nice weather this would be a pleasant place to visit.

Apparently these are the northernmost botanical gardens in the worlds, it's quite nice though it did not look that well kept when we visited in october. The labeling of the plants isn't always neat, but I found it a place worth a look in Akureyri where there's not much else to see anyway.

It's true, this is the most northern botanical garden in the entire world. Perfect size to explore for an hour or two, depending on your interests. Full of colorful flowers and quirky art pieces throughout. $1 to use restroom facilities is a donation that gets put back into the garden.

This is well kept and surprisingly colorful garden even in mid September. You need at least an hour or more to leisurely walk through the garden. It has plants that one would never believe would thrive in Iceland.

This is a lovely garden. The space is well maintained and although it was the end of the season there was still lots of colour and greenery. The fairy lights in the trees also add to the charm. Really worth a visit - the hours stroll was one of our trip highlights.

We visited while on a cruise, and docked for the night. Just wandering along taking in the sights we came across these superbly attractive gardens. Free, and open, even though we had been told they were closed. Well set out in a natural informal way, still full of lots of different colourful flowers like vivid patches of gorgeous Gentian standing... More

Visited there for a short stop. This garden is really, really nice, enjoyed there every second. Lots of plants and exotic flowers, trees, berries... Even picked and ate some wild strawberries :) (in October!) If you're in Acureyri do visit! The entrance is free, and you won't regret it.
