Initially i was skeptical to join this tour as i have a 23 months old baby but after this trip i was so grateful that i made the right decision! RE is a very professional local tour operator who made me felt so comfortable especially when i saw the child seat was ready for us as requested. The entire journey... More

We took this tour which took a full 12 hours from pickup to drop off. The bus ride out there had several stops for scenic outlooks, and food/bathroom requirements. When we got to Landmannalauger, we went on the advertised hike. The scenery there was absolutely breathtaking. Our tour guide was fantastic. Two things to be aware of. First, a large... More

I want to write this so as many people get here and see this place as possible!! Truly one of the most magical, out of this world, and beautiful places I have ever been. If you are staying in Reykjavik and trying to figure out how the heck to get to the highlands of Iceland (I didn't have a car... More

This is a trip you must take either with this Reykjavik Excursions or Gray Line tours. We were in view of Hekla most of the trip. The hills and valleys were an array of colors. We took a walk/hike in Landmannalaugar. Beautiful! Amazing! We walked through a lava field and then got close up to one of those colored hills.... More

Did the 4-day trek with Trek Icland down the Landmannalauger trail, staying in mountain huts and carrying only our day packs. Varied landscapes and weather. Our guides, FIfa and Pálme were positive, professional, caring and informative. They told us enough about the geology, botany and history of the area at the same time as guiding us down the 55 km... As a solo traveller, it was great to use this company for airport transfers. I also booked 4 excursions. It was a great way to get a good taste of the area. I found them to be very reliable and particularly liked the pick up and drop off at guesthouse. I would have liked more time at some attractions and... More

Day trip by special bus to mountains of island´s southwest part. Coloured hills and valleys with lakes and thermal springs. We did tour from camp by the white marking path through lava field to crosspoint with red one and then back to camp. We start when was windy and rainy, but if we entered to river valley started sunny time... More

I decided to do a hike in the Landmannalaugar area... so I signed up for a guided hike with Arctic Adventures. The area was so beautiful... so many colors and textures. The hike is a 4 hour hike up and down a volcano. It was a feast for the eyes. I loved the hike, but almost got lost as the... More

We hired our own car to explore this region of Iceland- and it was absolutely breathtaking! The various landscape, the feeling of beeing in the middle of nowhere, it was priceless! Just hire a 4x4 if you go there, because you'll have to pass several small rivers. Icelandic nature is stunning anyway, but the most amazing views you'll get if... More

Bit of an epic coach journey across literally hours of incredibly bumpy, axle-thumping dirt tracks, but very much worth it, and for the price too (over £300 for 5 of us). There's mile upon mile of bizarre, lunar landscapes to get there, catching fleeting glimpses of the mountains to come. When you finally get to the valley itself, it's how... More
