About Iceland Horizon
Operating only a few select daily scheduled tours which are always in small groups, Iceland Horizon is a small, family run tour operation with no intention of becoming a large bus company. Our philosophy has always been that you are travelling on a guided tour and the bus is just a means of transport, keeping the experience more personal, friendly and fun for both travellers and guides. We also arrange tours for groups wanting a private or individual arrangement.

Our originally scheduled night was cancelled due to poor conditions but we were easily able to reschedule for the following day. We were picked up promptly at our hotel and I enjoyed the Northern Lights museum at the beginning to help provide an understanding of what we were looking for. Our guide, Andres, was excellent at providing realistic expectations about what we were hopefully going to see and made it very clear that it was not a guarantee. We were so very luckily to see a display of the Northern Lights in two different areas. Even though they were not strong enough to really appreciate with our eyes (as much as I'd have liked) I was able to capture some gorgeous pictures. I loved that Andy was sharing the ways that they looked for the lights (different websites and tools) because we went out on our own two nights later. Honestly, the tour was a much more fun/easy way to watch for the lights than just the two of us standing out in the middle of nowhere. I would highly recommend this tour!

Iceland is a magical land! You may do the tours but it is an easily navigated by car. I rented a car with my family. We hit all the highlights for free. All of the natural wonders can be accessed without a payment. We saw the black sand beaches, waterfalls, and the northern lights without paying a cent. The Blue Lagoon is about $90 USD for the premium package. WORTH IT! It includes 2 face masks a beverage and a reservation at the Lava Restaurant. There is a small adjustment period for driving. You will get used to the roads in about a day. It was a bit snowy and icy but I have driven extensively in the North East USA. The people are very friendly. Everyone speaks English. If you want to buy alcohol purchase in the airport and also souvenirs are cheaper at the airport. Alcohol is about $10-$15 dollars a drink everywhere. There are plentiful happy hours that offer 50% off throughout town. Reykjavík is a walking town. You can go everywhere on foot but most of the sights are from 40 min to 2.5 hours away. It was a magical time in winter and it’s low season. If you have a correct outerwear it is wonderful! We had a wonderful family (adults) vacation!

We went 2 days ago and the weather was great so luckily we were able to get good pictures. Our tour guide, Berglind was fantastic! So knowledgeable and energetic. Definitely one of the best tours we went on in Iceland!

Just 5 of us were on this trip me, my wife, my sister and nice couple from Germany and I can honestly say we all really enjoyed it. Siggy our guide was so helpful even stopping so that my sister could get some Icelandic horse pics. Fortunately the weather was great on the day and we had just the right amount of time on each stop. We were even able fit in walking up to the Glacier which I don't think was on the itenery and along with the black beach were the highlights of the tour. All in all a great day with an extremely knowledgeable guide who also made us laugh. Could not have been better!

Was picked up earlier than expected so received a call asking where I was at 8:50, luckily we were ready and near the pick up point. The trip was wonderful and we saw lots of amazing sights, and were given independence to do as we wanted. Thor was fantastic and couldn’t have been more accommodating.
